Skin lesion excision of external sexual organs

Some skin lesions may indicate neoplastic growth.

Indications for performing the procedure include the following skin lesions found on external sexual organs:

• warts,
• naevi,
• fibromas,
• lipomas,
• atheromata.

Two weeks prior to the procedure, the following blood tests should be collected:

• blood cell count,
• electrolyte panel,
• coagulation factors,
• blood typing,
• glucose test,
• creatinine test,
• HBsAg test,
• anti-HCV antibody test.

The excision procedure (sampling) is performed under local anaesthesia or short intravenous anaesthesia. The collected tissue is then examined histologically. The procedure lasts about 15-30 minutes.
