Neurosurgery

Neurosurgery Specialist Clinic

Neurosurgery, or surgery of the nervous system, deals with the diagnosis and surgical treatment of selected diseases of the nervous system. It concentrates mostly on such structures as the peripheral nerves, the brain, spinal cord and the vasculature, which provides for these structures. Neuroanaesthesia is a highly specialized branch of medicine akin to neurosurgery and anesthesiology. It is taken into account during the surgeries of the nervous system. The symptoms indicating neurological disorders include: very severe pain, inability to stand on one’s heels or toes, foot drop, urinary incontinence or stool disorders. Should these symptoms occur, it is necessary to consult a specialist as soon as possible. They will make a diagnosis and administer specialist treatment.

Neurosurgical procedures include:

  • spine surgery
  • treatment of spinal disc herniation
  • treatment of ligamentous instability
  • treatment of spinal overload syndrome

Neurosurgical procedures can be carried out with the use of a conventional or endoscopic method (lesser risk to the patient).
