What is YAG capsulotomy?

YAG capsulotomy is a laser procedure for the removal of secondary cataract, which involves the cutting of a delicate membrane called posterior capsule of the lens, a relatively frequent problem after cataract surgery.

  • The procedure is performed in outpatient settings at our clinic.
  • It lasts a few minutes,
  • does not require any special preparation on the part of the patient
  • and does not involve any pain.

After the procedure, you should not drive for a few hours.
